Sheriff's blotter: Man arrested for alleged rape, false imprisonment

Sheriff's arrests
Contributing to the delinquency of a minor

David John Medina, 39, of the 400 block of Willy Court, 8:50 a.m. April 30, on the 5800 block of Monterey Highway for giving false information to a peace officer, being in possession of a controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Assault with a deadly weapon

Ramon Watkins, 19, of the 16400 block of San Ramon Court or Drive in Morgan Hill, 9:10 a.m. Friday, at his residence for assault with a deadly weapon.

Rape

John Thomas Simnitt, 26, of the 12100 block of Columbet Avenue in San Martin, 12:15 p.m. April 3, at 80 Highland Avenue in San Martin for rape and false imprisonment.

Grand theft

Roseann Santacruz, 42, of San Jose, is wanted for grand theft. Deputies allege she stole more than $400 worth of California Lottery tickets while working at Parkway Lakes RV Park on the 100 block of Ogier Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 12 p.m. March 1 and 12 p.m. April 26.

Assault with a deadly weapon

Gregorio Torres, 42, of the 13700 block of Murphy Avenue in San Martin, is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon. Torres attempted to stab a male victim with a knife, yelled derogatory racial slurs, punctured the man's gas tank and threatened to kill the man, between 4 p.m. April 26 and 9 a.m. Thursday at Torres' residence.

Criminal threats

Heng Tan, 65, of the 200 block of Miramonte Avenue in Morgan Hill, is wanted for making criminal threats. Tan threatened to kill a male victim with a gun multiple times between 12 p.m. January 1 and 12 p.m. February 1, on the 200 block of Miramonte Avenue.

Other sheriff's incidents
Burglary

A locked storage shed at Medallion Landscape Management Inc. on the 100 block of San Bruno Avenue in Morgan Hill was broken into, between 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. The victim did not notice anything missing.

Grand theft

A fuel trailer and about 1050 gallons of diesel and unleaded fuel valued at $4,500 at Bob Filice Farms near the intersection of Pacheco Pass Highway and Frazier Lake Road were stolen, between 10 p.m. April 21 and 8 a.m. April 22. The trailer was abandoned and found by sheriff's deputies.

Four brass radiators from four large trucks and tractors owned by one victim and parked on the 6000 block of Croy Road in Morgan Hill were stolen, between 1 p.m. April 20 and 9 p.m. April 27.

Recovered stolen vehicle

A 2006 red Ford Focus with no license plates stolen out of San Mateo County was found near the intersection of Holsclaw Road and Leavesley Road, 10:45 p.m. Friday.

Identity theft

A man's personal information was used without permission to open several accounts with various businesses. When the man applied for a car loan on April 15, he was told his credit was bad. The man had his vehicle, which contained personal information, stolen in Mexico in 2000.

A credit card number was used without authorization to withdraw $503 from an ATM, between 7 a.m. April 28 and 3 p.m. April 29.

Found property

A Samsung flat-screen computer monitor was found on the floor of the South County Sheriff's Office evidence room, 80 Highland Avenue in San Martin, 2 p.m. April 30. The computer had no evidence tag or other markings, was not listed as stolen and was not entered into the sheriff's filing system.

Vandalism

Graffiti was spray painted on a fence on the 12400 block of Llagas Avenue in San Martin, causing about $200 in damages, between 5 p.m. April 25 and 6 a.m. April 28.

The front passenger window of a 2003 white Pontiac Sunfire parked on the 9700 block of Monterey Highway in Morgan Hill was broken, between 5:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. April 28. The victim did not notice anything missing from the car.
