Sheriff's blotter: Man finds 10 pounds of marijuana in Sprig Lake trash

Sheriff's arrests
Under the influence of a controlled substance

Kathryn St. Clair, 42, of Morgan Hill, 8:55 p.m. Friday, near the intersection of Sycamore Avenue and San Martin Avenue in San Martin.

Adrian Montoya, 27, of Morgan Hill, 8:55 p.m. Friday, near the intersection of Sycamore Avenue and San Martin Avenue in San Martin.

Vehicle burglary

Miscellaneous items were taken from a 2005 silver Chevy Malibu and a gold Ford Excursion parked on the 450 block of Fitzgerald Avenue in San Martin, between 11 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

A white book bag containing miscellaneous school supplies was taken from a 2002 green Volkswagon Beetle parked on the 11400 block of Rothe Drive, between 11:30 p.m. May 4 and 7 a.m. May 5. The driver's side rear window was broken.

Stolen vehicle recovery

A black 1992 Honda Accord stolen out of East Palo Alto was found on the 2800 block of Leavesley Road, 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Stolen vehicle

A 1995 white Dodge van parked in a driveway on the 11000 block of New Avenue was stolen, between 9 p.m. Friday and 5:50 Saturday.

Commercial burglary

About $10 in coins were stolen from a cash drawer at the Fruit Barn on the 2800 block of Pacheco Pass Highway, between 7 p.m. May 8 and 8:45 a.m. Friday. A side door of the fruit stand was also broken, causing about $200 in damage.

Money from a cash register was stolen from the Business-RVS Corporation on the 10000 block of Monterey Road in Morgan Hill, between 5 p.m. May 8 and 7:30 a.m. Friday. The burglar entered the store by climbing a fence, forcing the air conditioning unit of out the wall and climbing through the hole. The cash register was dumped outside the store.

One thousand, one hundred dollars in cash was stolen from a locked safe at Parkway Lakes RV Park on the 100 block of Ogier Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 8 p.m. May 5 and 8:20 a.m. May 6. The burglar knew the safe's combination and the location of the key that opened the inside of the safe.

The San Martin Driving Range on the 11300 block of Monterey Road in San Martin was burglarized, between 10 a.m. May 8 and 9 a.m. Friday. There were no signs of theft, disturbance or other vandalism. The range's front door was forced open and door jam broken.

Burglary

A welder was stolen from a partially open garage on the 1600 block of Rucker Avenue, between 12 p.m. April 26 and 5 p.m. May 1.

Identity theft

A victim living on the 13100 block of Watsonville Road in Morgan Hill reported several fraudulent transactions affecting her bank account and resulting in a total loss of $1,671.90 between 12 p.m. May 2 and 3:30 p.m. May 8.

Found contraband

A man found two red Macy's bags crammed full with about 10 pounds of fresh-cut marijuana while emptying trash at Sprig Lake on the 7800 block of Poleline Road, 9:30 a.m. May 7.

Peeping while prowling

A girl reported spotting an unknown man staring at her from outside her window while she was changing her clothes inside her house on the 14000 block of Harding Street in San Martin, 10 p.m. May 6. The man was described as a tall white male.

Vandalism

A fence on the 20 block of Denio Lane was cut, causing $200 in damage, between 12 p.m. January 1 and 11:35 a.m. May 6.

Grand theft

An iPod and a pair of sunglasses were stolen from a tan 2003 GMC Sierra truck parked on the 11300 block of Rothe Drive, between 10 a.m. May 4 and 5 a.m. May 5. The vehicle had been ransacked and the victim told deputies this was the fifth time one of his vehicles had been burglarized.
