Anchorpoint Christians Schools of Gilroy will host its first annual fundraising auction at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, located at 17000 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill.

Called “The Power of Love: A fun night of light bites and laughs,” the event will feature comedian Robert G. Lee, who is known in the entertainment industry as Hollywood’s top “warm-up” comic. Lee has kept countless audiences entertained during the filming of television shows such as “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Just Shoot Me” and “The Drew Carey Show.” He has also appeared in several stand-up comedy shows and sitcoms and has written episodes for the animated show, “Veggie Tales.”

The evening will include a silent auction, raffle and appetizers form Mama Mia’s Italian restaurant in Morgan Hill. Proceeds from the auction will go to deserving students through Anchorpoint’s Scholarship Fund.

“In these very difficult economic times, ti means the world to these kids to know someone cares enough to help them pursue their dreams,” said Dawn White, co-chair of the auction committee.
