Sobrato Breaks Ground on Center

John Michael Sobrato, left, Gilroy Mayor Al Pinheiro, far right, and other dignitaries break ground Thursday at the Sobrato Transitional Center on Monterey Highway. The shelter will provide 140 beds for single adults and families along with services such as job training and counseling. The center is being built in conjunction with a 60-unit low-income apartment complex. The facilities will open next year.
