Hold Assemblyman Simon Salinas Accountable on Eminent Domain

Dear Editor,
Although I agree with several parts of Ben Anderson’s (Sept. 27)
letter, he made one error: Craig Gartman did not vote to steal
property! He is the only one of this bunch who is not too arrogant
to respect private property.
Dear Editor,

Although I agree with several parts of Ben Anderson’s (Sept. 27) letter, he made one error: Craig Gartman did not vote to steal property! He is the only one of this bunch who is not too arrogant to respect private property.

Equally contemptuous is the person who pretends to represent us in the state Assembly, Simon Salinas.

After the Supreme Court ruled that local governments have a green light to seize private property, there were bills introduced to immediately curb that power, one even limiting it to necessities only. Salinas instead called for a mere study (which will of course turn up nothing).

As far as the local fire department, who wanted to ban our fireworks so they didn’t have to work hard, let’s fire ’em all, hire back the ones who are willing to kick the union out, and establish a volunteer fire department to fill in the rest of the positions. And if there is really any chance of said decertification happening, I’ll be the first to volunteer!
