Both squads tallied runs early in the ball game with the Chieftains (10-1-1 TCAL) scoring in he bottom of the first and the Mustangs (7-5-1 TCAL) answering back in the second.

A GHS win would not only serve as a huge lift after dropping three of four league tilts last week to fall into fourth place, but it would also create a tie at the top of the standings between Palma and San Benito.

The restart is slated for 3:30 p.m. prior to the third and final game of the season series.

The GHS dual swim meet against Alisal, which was originally scheduled for March 24 has been pushed to May 3. Also, the GHS softball game versus North Salinas that was called off due to rain last Thursday has been moved to April 29.
