Roundup: Tabron, Guerra lead balanced CHS girls to victory

PREP ROUNDUP: CHS volleyball upends GHS

Hanna Tabron scored 11 points and Teresa Guerra added 10 points to lead Christopher’s girls basketball team to a 60-26 win at North Monterey County on Saturday.

Cydney Caradonna scored nine points and Olivia Tabron added eight points for the Cougars (4-1), who had nine players score.

Julissa Torres led the Condors with 12 points.



Gilroy High placed three wrestlers in the top four of their respective weight classes on its way to a 13th-place finish at the Zinkin Classic.

Gilroy’s Paul Fox (138 pounds) and Nikko Villarreal (145) each took second, and teammate Victor Olmos (132) claimed fourth.

The Mustangs scored 82.5 points as a team to finish 13th.



Christopher 2, Burlingame 2 – Paulina Llamas scored twice to help the Cougars (5-2-1) tie the Panthers.

Margarita Trejo assisted on the second goal for Christopher.



Burlingame 2, Gilroy 1 – Mario Rubalcava scored on a direct free kick in the second half, but the Mustangs fell to the Panthers in the fourth and final round of the Homestead Cup.

Burlingame reached last year’s Central Coast Section Division III semifinals.
