Katie Day

ANNIVERSARY: Musachias celebrate 68 years: It was a day filled with smiles and reminiscing when Peter and Ruby Musachia celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary July 12, 2014 at home in Morgan Hill.
The couple wed in 1946 in Reno and eventually settled down in Morgan Hill to raise a family in the home they still live in today. The party was hosted by Pete and Ruby’s two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Marcos Gonzales and Teresa and Chuck Cummings.
The couple was especially happy that day to be surrounded by two grandchildren, Donn Silacci and Sheri Grimsley, four great-granddaughters, Nicole Patterson, Tayler Silacci, Kylie Silacci and Ava Grimsley, and many family members and friends.

Brandon Pham
Brandon Q. Pham, an Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadet at University of California, Irvine, graduated from the Leader Development and Assessment Course (LDAC) at Fort Knox, Ky.
The 29 days of training provide the best possible professional training and evaluation for all cadets in the aspects of military life, administration and logistical support. Although continued military training and leadership development is included in the curriculum, the primary focus of the course is to develop and evaluate each cadet’s officer potential by exercising the cadet’s intelligence, common sense, ingenuity and physical stamina.
Cadets usually attend LDAC between their junior and senior years of college, and they must complete the course to qualify for commissioning. Upon successful completion of the course, the ROTC program, and graduation from college, cadets are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard or Army Reserve.
Pham is a 2011 graduate of Ann Sobrato High School.
