VANCOUVER, WASH.—The Gilroy Junior All Stars went toe-to-toe with Hawaii Friday and held their own.

Hawaii built a 4-0 lead after the second inning. Gilroy scored its lone run in the top of the third when Joseph Aguilera hit into a fielder’s choice allowing Travis Romero to race home.

Hawaii notched two more runs in the sixth for the final.
