Douglas O’Handley May 7, 1937 – July 28, 2016

 A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 2:00 P.M., at St. Catherine’s Church, Morgan Hill. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a cancer charity of your choice in his name. LIMA-CAMPAGNA-JOHNSON FUNERAL HOME serving the family.
 Doug died peacefully at home in Morgan Hill, CA.
 Doug is survived by his wife, Christy, brother, Donald and sister-in-law, Norma, brother-in-law, Jerry McCarty, step-sons, and their wives, Jeffrey and Megan Stube and Kevin Stube and Jessica Culler, granddaughters, Lauren and Rachel Stube (children of Jeffrey and Megan), and numerous nieces, nephews, and former students.
 Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm (Syd) and Georgie, sister, Gayle McCarty, and son, Douglas Alexander Jr.
 Doug was born in Detroit, MI. He graduated from University of Michigan and received his Doctorate in Astronomy-Celestial Mechanics at Yale University in 1967.
 Doug’s career spanned more than forty years at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA Headquarters, and NASA’s Ames Research Center in robotics, biomedical engineering, human space exploration, Mars exploration, and leadership development.
 Doug loved to travel with Christy all over the world from Monterey and Tahoe City, CA to all seven continents.
