Professor Emeritus UCSF Medical School. Keith was the son of Olin C.Hadley and Elma Paulsen Hadley. Keith graduated as valedictorian of Gilroy High's Class of 1946 where he also served as student body president. He attended UC Berkeley where he earned a doctorate in micro biology and then an MD at Yale U Medical School. He was a respected teacher and researcher as professor of clinical pathology. He is survived by his wife Marilyn and daughter Ruth of Tiburon and daughter Joan and grandchildren Andrew and Taryn Phillips of Seattle. Also by his brother Ron of Middlebury,VT and his family.
Donna Anne Matulich passed away at the age of 73, in Reno, NV surrounded by family and friends after a battle with cancer. She was born in Alhambra, CA to Dorothy Moncrief, and Adrian Dee Stiltz, the third born of 5 children. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Benny Matulich. Donna graduated from Gilroy High School in 1954 and enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and oil-painting. Her surviving siblings are: Adrian Dee "Joe" Stiltz, Helen Louene Abruzzini, Joyce Pourroy, and Glenn Stiltz. She is also survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Debra Matulich, Thomas and Renee Matulich, Stephen and Liz Matulich, Russell and Christine Matulich, Joseph and Tiffany Matulich, daughter and son-in-law Jeannie and Terry Darnell. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren: Joel, Naomi, April, Russell, Susan, John, Rachel, Diana, Branden, Allison, Robin, Kelly, Walter, Raymond, Haley, Riley, and Elley; and 10 great-grandchildren: Oliver, Darla, Matilda, Marley, Jacobey, Aiden, Rowan, Michael, James, and Brianna.
Maria Navarro passed away in Hollister at the age of 83. She was born in Mexico and came to Hollister in 1966. She worked in the local cannery, was a member of The Teamsters Union and Sacred Heart Church.
Bernice A. Foster , 93, passed away in Saratoga , CA, March 19, 2010. She is survived by her son Dale Foster and daughter-in-law Aileen Teren-Foster of Morgan Hill, 5 grandchildren: Melissa (Heath), Erinn, Katherine, Andrew and Victoria, 3 great-grandchildren: Noah, Carly and Brooklyn, her cousin Dolores Bigelow (91 years old) and her family and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Howard in 1996, her brother, Lewis Gunn, 2003 and her sister, Kathryn McCord, 1985.
David John Bulman passed away in is sleep in Hollister, California on March 17, 2010. Mr. Bulman was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Housman and brother Frederick Bulman. He is survived by his five children; David Jr., Mark, Heidi, Bryan, Eric, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Isabel Olmos was born in Tlachichila, Zacatecas and came to Gilroy in 1952 after marrying Hipolito Olmos. She was all of 4 ft. 4 inches tall but to her family she was a Giant. She was a farm worker until she was hired at our local cannery. She always remembered how she had to stand on a "prune box" in order to reach the conveyor belts at the Felice and Perelli Cannery, later known as the Gilroy Cannery. She later went on to work and retire from Joseph Gubser Garlic Company.
