Jane Lorena Fingulin

Jane Lorena (Boccone) Fingulin, born May 10, 1933 in Nashville, TN, to her parents Samuel Leslie and Lucretia Evans Grow, died March 12, 2010 at a convalescent hospital in Gilroy , CA.

John Patrick Bedell

Graduated from Southside School, Gavilan College with an AS degree in Transfer Studies, University of Santa Cruz, BS in Physics and was a graduate student in Engineering at San Jose State University. Survived by his parents John and Kaye Bedell, brothers Matthew and Jeffrey, grandfather O.J. Bedell, Sr., aunt Martha Bedell Crum and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Hollister and on the east coast. He was predeceased by his grandmothers Grace Graham Bedell and June Reed Frits. Private services will be held. Memorials preferred to Southside Elementary School Foundation, c/o Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito Street, Hollister, CA 95023. The Bedell family wishes to thank the entire Hollister community and beyond for the support and kindness they have shown.

Rita Lorraine Mello

Rita Lorraine Mello Passed away Saturday afternoon at the age of 79 at Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula. She was born and lived in Hollister all her life. Member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Along with being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she had been a school bus driver for many years for Tiffany Ford Motor Co.

Formerly of Gilroy, CA, passed March 12, 2010 in Citrus Heights, CA, a native of San Jose, CA, age 98 years. Wife of the late Arthur Greco. Mother of Mary Lou Tuckness. Grandmother of Terrilee Hammond, Shelley Chaulklin and David Tuckness.

Rose Velasco Jones

Life-long resident Rose Velasco Jones passed away quietly on March 5. Rose had lived in Gilroy most of her life. Her parents traveled from Spain to the Hawaiian Islands where Rose was born. Her family moved to Gilroy when she was a young girl. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Louis Jones, her parents, Cris and Ladisla Velasco, brothers Dal, Marshal, Florencio, Phillip and Cano Velasco. She is survived by her son and his wife, Richard and Dee Ann Brown, grandchildren, Becky, Justin and Colleen Brown, and two great-grandchildren, Gannon and Molly Penick. She is also survived by her sister Bernice (Mecca) Shurden as well as Mecca Ann Hutchins and numerous nieces and nephews. At Rose's request, no services will be held. The family will gather at the home of her son in Tres Pinos to enjoy her favorite food and reminisce.

Frances Lindeleaf

Frances Lindeleaf passed away at age 89 on March 9, 2010, at her home in Gilroy . She was preceded in death in 1996 by her husband of 50 years, Ray. They worked together for over 30 years in farming one of the last surviving prune orchards in the Santa Clara Valley. Frances is survived by her loving son Warren Lindeleaf and his partner Ed Hall of Sacramento; niece Carolyn Mendoza of Cottage Grove, OR; and nephews David Larson of Morgan Hill, Jerry Lindeleaf of Fresno, Bob Lindeleaf of Fresno, and Don Lindeleaf of Bend, OR.

Mervin Leroy Gunter

Merv was born in Gilroy, CA and lived his entire life in Morgan Hill, except for the years he spent proudly serving hus country. He worked for Gunter Bros. Feed Store for 30 years. He had many hobbies including, but not limited to, control-line airplanes, HO model trains, camping at Mt. Madonna and antique tractors and gas enigines. He was a lifetime member of the E.D.G.E. and T.A. Branch 3. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dee; son, William; daughter-in-law, Kristine; granddaughters, Sarah and Shannon; daughter, Kathy and her fiance, Bob. Visitation will be on Monday, March 15, 2010, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 11:30 A.M., also at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Mt. Hope Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages that donations be made in Mervin's memory to the American Heart Association, W.E.R.C., F.O.S.M., or charity of your choice.

Patricia Gough Risk

Patricia G. Risk passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at Pacific Hills Manor, Morgan Hill. Wife of the late Vivian Risk (03/08/1995). Beloved mother of Sally Ramer, Margie Clear, Annie Van Dalsem and Patrick Gough, Jr. Beloved mother-in-law of Gary Clear, Vince Fleming, Julia Gough and Ron Saucedo. Loving Grandmother of Erica and Ron Saucedo, Chris Van Dalsem and P.J. Gough. Survived by her beloved cat, Jazzy. Member of Catholic Ladies Aid Society, Gilroy. Longtime volunteer at the Senior Center and St. Louise Regional Hospital. She was a published author and poet.

Roy Benjamin Naylor, Jr.

Roy was born in San Luis Obispo, CA on October 13, 1918; lived his childhood in Gilroy, CA with parents Ida M. White and Roy B. Naylor, Sr. He had had strong ties to Gilroy from both is paternal and maternal sides of his family, the Willson's and Phegley's.
