GILROY – The unified Brownell Academy-South Valley Jr. High select boys basketball team finished on an 11-game winning streak to go undefeated in the Oakland Slam-N-Jam Basketball League

The first-year squad – comprised of the brightest young hoopsters in the local area – also won back-to-back games at Contra Costa College against the Oakland Soldiers and the True Playas, 38-15.

“Our defense was incredible. We completely owned them Oakland teams,” head coach Ed Jensen said. “We came in there this year wanting to place in the top 3 and went unbeaten. These kids we have are the real deal.”

The team is now preparing for the California Games Qualifier.
