Jesse J. "Alo" Hutchings Jr. passed away at his home on Dec. 28, 2007. He was 75 years old. Mr. Hutchings is survived by his wife Juanita of Gilroy, his children Gail Isaac of Madera, Leslie (Dave) Koppel of Gilroy, Daryl Hutchings of San Jose and Kevin (Paula) Hutchings of San Jose, grandfather of 13, great-grandfather of 3. He is also survived by a brother and many nieces and nephews. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. After college he began his career as a contractor in the San Jose area, moved to Gilroy in 1989, and has been a Gilroy resident ever since, retiring in 2005. As a member of the New Hope Community Church, in Gilroy, he worked on many construction projects as well as at the Gilroy Presbyterian Church. He had many friends and family that loved and respected him, he will be dearly missed.
Mary Frances Yerman, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2007 in Morgan Hill at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward M. Yerman and son Edward D. Yerman. She was the loving mother of Elaine Milar of Gilroy, devoted grandmother of Brandon Milar, Shannon Milar, David Yerman and Amy Szucs, proud great-grandmother of Caroline Milar and Cole Szucs, mother-in-law of Dennis Milar of Gilroy and Deborah Yerman of Los Gatos, grandmother-in-Iaw of Ann Margaret Milar and Anthony Szucs, loving sister of John Bluth, Robert Stariha, the late Mathew (AI) Bluth, and the late Virginia Corboff. She is survived by sisters-in-law; Irene Bluth, Angeline Tomsic, Norma Yerman and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters-in-law; Lorraine Bluth and Mary Kump; brothers-in-law Jack Corboff, John Yerman, Joseph Tomsic and Anton Kump. Mary was born January 20, 1917 in Berkeley. She was a longtime resident of San Francisco where she raised her cherished family, held a successful career as an accountant and was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church. She moved to Gilroy with her husband in 1994. Mary was a member of St. Francis Lodge #236, San Francisco; Slovenian-American F&B Society, San Francisco; Slovenian Women's Union, Br. 13, San Francisco; Catholic Ladies Aid Society, Br. 6, Gilroy, and a parishioner of St. Mary Church. Mary delighted in baking for her family and friends and tending to her gardens. She was a sweet lady, loved by all who knew her.
