Aged 66, was called home Thursday, March 27, 2008 with his family by his side at Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, CA. Born April 14, 1941 in Baguio City, Philippines, Amado was preceded in death by his mother Eufrosina Mallare and sister Jean Baliton. He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth Barnes and husband Stephen, his son Neil Amorao and wife Lisa and son Andrew Amorao as well as his brothers William and John Mallare.

Grandmother of Genie Barraza, Buddy Barraza, Daniel Aguirre Jr., Gino Barraza, Alia Rodriguez, Albert JR Rodriguez, Diamondique Hernandez and Julianna Estrella Marquez. Daughter to Angelita Silos (Gabriel) of Dos Palos. Sister of Virginia Katashima (Kinji) of Gilroy, Manuel Silos (Verni) of Winterhaven,CA Carmen Silos of WA, Arthur Silos (Libby) of Palmdale, CA, Angel Silos (Mary) of San Martin, Della Martinez (Richard) of Morgan Hill, George Silos (Natalie)of San Jose, Martha Silos of Gilroy, Sylvia Silos of Gilroy, Tina Verala (Francisco) of Firebaugh and David Silas (Lily) of Gilroy. Godmother to Steven Juarez, Arthur Hernandez, Manuel Muniz, Ricardo Villagomez, Vanessa Verala, Vivian and Veronica Silos. Her boyfriend was "Epi" Cisneros. Josie worked at Gentry's Gilroy Foods for 25 yrs. As a weighmaster. She loved to make crafts, paint and sew. She had a huge collection of shoes, hats and scarves. She loved cats, angels and bears. She face painted with her daughter for parties. She was the most loving, sweet, sensitive mother and lived for her grandkids. Sadly, her life was cut short at a young age. She will forever be missed.

Joseph D. Souza

Passed away suddenly at his residence at the age of 67 years. Joe was a native Gustine, CA, attended Salinas Schools, and has lived in San Benito County for the last 45 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart and St. Benedict Catholic Church Communities, the Cattlemen's Association, and a former member of the Hollister Elk's Lodge. Joseph was a Fabrication Supervisor for Wiebe Conveyance Systems and traveled the country installing can conveyers for major beverage companies. The last 13 years, Joe was the manager of Safety Storage in Hollister. "Joseph loved the Western Way---horses, ranches, brandings, and the friendships that they generated; his family was his world; taking his grandchildren fishing, watching them with their sports, and encouraging them in their schooling", said his family. He was an avid supporter of the 4-H and FFA programs for youth as well as a supporter and participant at the San Benito Co. Horse Show and the Fair. "Joe will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love of people, and his loyalty to family and friends" , said those who knew him well. Joe is survived by his wife Gloria; son and daughter-in-law Eric &Laura Souza; his grandchildren Dominic, Savanna, and Alora; sisters and brothers-in-law Lorraine and Clint McCoy, Mary Anne and Bob Janecek, and Kathy and Bill Cady; many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict Catholic Church 1400 Fairview Rd., Hollister. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

Frances Marie Leon

Passed away last Wednesday at Mabie Skilled Nursing Center Southside at the age of 90 years. Frances was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and was a former resident of Morgan Hill before moving to Hollister six years ago. " Frances was a excellent homemaker who loved to cook and made great tamales" said her family. She enjoyed working with ceramics and making Christmas ornaments, and loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Louis Leon of Hollister; daughters Cynthia Muscio (late Vernon) of Hollister; Diane Schneider (Herman) of Modesto, and son Ron Muscio (Barbara) of Brisbane. 9 Grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the last of the six siblings in her family.
