Lorraine Mendoza was welcomed into Heaven by God and her family and friends on August 28, 2010, at the age of 92. Lorraine was born in Hollister, CA and lived a long fulfilling life surrounded by her family, which consisted of 15 brothers and sisters, 11 children, 42 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Frank J. Caliri, 80, passed suddenly on Friday, August 27, 2010, at his home in Gilroy. A native of Gilroy and Husband of Gloria Locarnini Caliri for 56 years. Father of Susan Caliri (Terry) of Oakland, CA and Donald Caliri of Gilroy. Grandfather of Krystal Romero (Brian) of Gilroy, Tony Caliri of Gilroy and Isabella Caliri of Oakland. Brother of Sebastian "Buster" Caliri (Gina) of Plumas Lake, CA, Mary Mercer of Gilroy, Anna Mae Armstrong (Robert) of Concord, CA. and the late Frances Lewis, Santo Caliri, Annette Balestreri and Geraldine Copelan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his loyal canine friend, Tasha.
Jack Tyler was born in Sayre, PA and moved to California in 1978, son of the late Delos and Maude Tyler and was preceded in death by infant son, Joshua Tyler. He graduated from Elk Lake High School in 1962 and was self-employed throughout his life which began with owning several businesses in Tunkhannock, PA, including Tyler Texaco Station and upon moving to California, he owned Tyler Real Estate Loans. Devoted and loving husband to Cindy for 30 years, wonderful father to Jessica Tyler, Alexis (Rich) Marcus, Jenny (Mike) Waller, Melissa (Jamie) Casillas. Doting and loving "Pa" to his six grandchildren Olivia, Tyler, Chase, Connor, Jaya, and McKenna. He is also survived by his siblings Rosemarie Tyler (Don Roberts), Esther (John) Prichett, Shaun (Linda) Dunn and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was a passionate man who loved singing and dancing, spending time with his family and working on outdoor projects. He will be remembered for his compassion for others, witty sense of humor and strong will. He lived a very full life and has touched many people along the way. Visitation will be held Thursday September 2, 2010, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. and services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home. Reception immediately following at the family home. Contributions are preferred to the family of Jack Tyler, c/o Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home to help with their funeral expenses.
Maria de Avila Leon, 89, of Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico, was called home by our Heavenly Father on August 26, 2010. Maria is survived by her husband of 48 years, Emilio Leon. She was blessed with three children, Victor Leon, Rosario Marlow and Laurentina Leon Burns, and 14 loving grandchildren, Blanca Sanchez, Yolanda Correa, the late Fernando Leon, Victor Leon, Jr., Elvira Bustillos, Veronica Torres, Abraham Leon, Elizabeth Leon, Alejandro Leon Marlow, Angelina Leon Marlow, Giovanni Leon Marlow, Christopher Leon Burns, Nicolas Leon Burns and Adrian Leon Burns. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and numerous additional family members and friends.
Candelaria Gamboa was born in Mexico on April 14, 1944 and migrated to California with her late husband Ignacio in 1964. She was devoted to her family and a homemaker for 40 plus years. She worked seasonally for Tri-Valley Growers; San Benito Foods and performed other agricultural work. She battled cancer for two years and never once complained.
