Two John Deere tractors stolen

Two brand-new John Deere tractors were recently stolen from a farm at the southern end of the county, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

Flores: No Oscar for ‘Moneyball,’ but it’s still worth watching

In honor of the Academy Awards, which aired last Sunday, I watched one of the films nominated for best picture. “Moneyball” lost out to the black-and-white silent film “The Artist” for both the best picture and lead actor categories, but it is still one to watch.

BASKETBALL: Williams garners TCAL co-MVP honor

More often than not, two defenders, sometimes three, surrounded Ashlee Williams any time she had the ball. Yet, the senior forward managed to average 20 points and 10 rebounds a night for the Gilroy High girls basketball team. And for that, Williams was named the Tri-County Athletic League’s co-Most Valuable Player along with Alisal’s Eva Latu.
