‘Class of 2012 … Be our ambassadors to the world’

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, friends, Romans, and countrymen, lend me your ears! Yea, Class of 2012, you will never have to hear that in a high school classroom again!

‘With hard work and wise choices, we can all have success’

Thank you. I am honored to represent the Class of 2012! Our parents would probably agree that it wasn’t very long ago that we began our journey in kindergarten. We entered the classroom holding our parent’s hand and with Minnie Mouse or Power Ranger backpacks on our shoulders. At the time we were nervous, scared and excited. I know that I cried, but once it started and friends were found, the path was easier. I know that I will always be grateful to my first teachers. They taught me to read and that opened the world to me.

GHS: Where they are going to college

‘Taking risks will truly help you find yourself’

Yeah, I took off the hat. Good advice from my sister, because every year it’s a big distraction.

‘We all have a right to go after what we dream of’

Before I get started, I’d like to thank some people that deserve some recognition. I want to thank the parents, teachers, school faculty, fellow students and friends. I believe that we’ve already thanked the parents but please don’t forget to thank them again when you’re asking them for money for college.

‘She’s going to do amazing things in her life’

High school is already an emotional roller coaster. For Christopher High School graduate Ashanti Clayton, moving from Bakersfield to Gilroy at the end of her sophomore year piled on the additional stresses of getting settled in a different school and establishing a new social circle.

Where Are They Now?
