It’s a young team, made up of mostly juniors and sophomores. But there’s an abundance of things you don't see on paper—and the Mustangs are more than happy to surprise their opponents.

Police blotter: Rape by force or violence

The Gilroy Police Department made arrests for a variety of crimes this past week, including rape by force or violence, grand theft, assault with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence. All arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter between Nov. 23 and 30. All suspects remain innocent until proven guilty, and an appearance in the arrest log does not signify guilt for the listed crime/s.

$36,000 award for Jewish teen leaders

Know a socially-minded teen with a passion for repairing the world? The Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards is seeking nominations of Jewish teens with exceptional community service/social change projects that embody the value of tikkun olam, repairing the world. Nominations for the awards present an opportunity for educators, civic leaders and teen mentors to acknowledge Jewish teens whose thoughtful approach to making a difference is creating meaningful change, whether locally, nationally or globally. The Helen Diller Family Foundation will recognize up to 15 recipients for its 2015 Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards with $36,000 each.
