 Terence was born in Monterey, CA. He graduated from Bellarmine College Prep in 2008 and the United States Military Academy in 2013.
 Upon graduation from West Point, he branched Engineers and was training at Fort Leonard Wood at the time of his death.
 He is survived by his parents Brian and Lori Murphy, sister Brianna Murphy and brothers Blair and Bradley Murphy of Morgan Hill, grandparents Conrad and Vickie Lowrey of Fallon, NV, grandmother Diann Murphy of Saratoga and uncle Dave Murphy of Los Gatos.
