Dear Editor,

5th Street Live, the summer music series in downtown Gilroy, completed its first season with a performance by Candace Fazzio and her friends last Friday.

Sponsors included the Gilroy Foundation, South Valley Disposal, Craig Avila Bail Bonds, LTD SUV Luxury Limousines, Bracco’s Towing, Happy Dog Pizza Co., Out and About Magazine, Redman’s Automotive Repair, Angel Talk Productions, InfoPower Inc., Jim Beam, Goldsmith Seeds, Pilsner Urquell, SKY Y90, Southern Wine and Spirits, Starritt Realtors, Gary Walton, VFW Post 6309, Rickenbacker Group, Inc., The James Group, Jim Gailey-Consulting and Development, Young Signs, Robert Raymond Custom Hair Design, Articulate Solutions, Carnitas Michoacan, Frame Your Family In Eyewear, Galleria Hair Studio, Gilroy Bowl, Gilroy Chevrolet, Gilroy Guitar Gallery, Gilroy Flower Shop, Los Pericos Taqueria, Planet Fitness, Skin Tech, Sharon Holloway, Fidalinas, Gilroy Guitar Gallery, Gavilan Footcare, Vela Piena Fotographia and Mr. Travel.

Without the support of these individuals, corporations and foundations, 5th Street Live would still be just a great idea.

The co-sponsors were the Theater Angels’ Art League and the Gilroy Downtown Business Association. League and Association volunteers included Dave Peoples, Larry Mickhartz, Steve Dearing, Bruce Morasca, Arline Silva, Allen Douglas, Sally Connell, Larry Connell, Debra Rosas, Lori Rees, Sharon Albert, Sherrie Stuart, Libby Lai and Denise Apuzzo.

Countless others also supported 5th Street Live either through their participation in buying raffle tickets or in donating prizes for the raffle.

Most important were the musical groups who performed during the 10-week period. Without their enthusiasm and musical skills the concerts certainly would not have happened. Many of these groups, along with the hundreds of people who attended one or more of the concerts, are looking forward to 5th Street Live 2006.
