Located at 270 E. 10th St., the new store recently celebrated its grand opening.
With enhanced layout and expanded product selection, the new Gilroy store gives residents and businesses a broader selection of the full Smart & Final product line. Whether customers are restaurant professionals or busy heads of households, Smart & Final provide anyone serious about cooking with a convenient, low-priced alternative to traditional grocery stores and the big-box club stores. Gilroy – Good planning is the basis of any successful business start-up, and a necessity for a loan application. This workshop will lead you to focus on a marketing plan, financial projections and a strategic plan to put your business on the road to success.

Grocery Outlet names Read and Lindberg as Co-CEOs
Gilroy – Grocery Outlet Inc., an extreme-value retailer of 124 stores in six Western States and Hawaii, including one at 727 W. First St. in Gilroy, announced the appointment of MacGregor Read, currently vice president of real estate and construction, and Eric Lindberg, currently vice president of purchasing to co-chief executive officers, effective immediately. Read and Lindberg will be responsible for driving the company’s future business strategies while working with Bob Tiernan, president/COO to drive the company’s day-to-day operations.
MacGregor Read began his career in the food industry with Lucky Stores in 1986. After graduating from the University of Pacific, he went to work for Del Monte Foods as a product manager. In 1996 he joined GOI where he advanced through several positions within the company until ultimately becoming the vice president of real estate and construction in 2004, responsible for the most aggressive new store growth in the history of the Company.
Eric Lindberg’s career at GOI also began in 1996. After starting in store operations, his career has taken him through the entire purchasing department: dry grocery, perishables, and GM/HBC. Lindberg was promoted to vice president of purchasing in 2001, where he has managed a team of 26 professionals. He holds a degree in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College.
