Q: In professional golf, what are the rules when a ball goes astray?
A: A competitor and/or caddy has exactly five minutes to locate the lost ball. If the ball is not found, it is considered lost.
This is not the only rule concerning golf balls used in golf games played in the United States. The ball must not weigh more than 1.620 ounces, but it can be as light as the manufacturer wants to make it. The ball must have a diameter of not less than 1.680 inches.
