Dear Editor,

I was very disappointed by the “Spike in Violence” article. The slant of the article discounts men who are abused by women.

Although the numbers are lower, it does happen and they are even less likely to report it. Male victims of domestic violence face both the fear of a false accusation of being the aggressor and the stigma of being abused by a woman. Your article certainly does not encourage them to come forward and get help or report such violence.

All victims of domestic violence need to feel as if hope is available to them whether they be women or men.
