Fundraiser for Gilroy’s Elvis
Gilroy – The city’s Elvis, Donald Prieto, is having a kidney transplant in mid-December. Because he will be recovering for four to six week and out of work for a year, a benefit brunch will be held in his honor.
The brunch goes from 11am to 4pm on Dec. 3 at Victoria’s Mexican Restaurant, located at 757 First Street in Gilroy near the Grocery Outlet. Donations can be made at South Valley National Bank to account #100351931.
Food drive benefits St. Joseph’s
Gilroy – Coldwell Banker has teamed up once again with CanTree to collect much needed food and other items to St. Joseph’s Family Center who will distribute to local families.
Drop off canned food, baby food, snack items, flour, salt, sugar and diapers size 4 and 5 to Coldwell Banker 7789 Wren Avenue on the corner of First Street.

Local musicians invited to share talents
Gilroy – South Valley Music Makers will meet at 1pm, Dec., 9 at Gilroy’s Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1735 Hecker Pass Highway.
Music Makers welcomes musicians of all levels of advancement, and all ages at its get-togethers to share their favorite repertoire in sets up to 10 minutes. Music of all historical periods is welcome. Those who would prefer just to listen are also encouraged to attend.

SV Symphony Creates Holiday Magic
Gilroy – South Valley Symphony invites you to “Holiday Magic,” featuring Christmas compositions selected by South Valley Symphony Maestro, Anthony Quartuccio. Quartuccio successfully led the Opera San Jose Orchestra during their recent highly acclaimed season-opener, “Romeo et Juliette.”
The program is 4pm, Dec. 16 at the Gavilan College Theater. Admission prices for this family holiday event are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens age 55 and older and $8 for students ages 12 to 18. Children younger than 12 will be admitted free with a paid adult admission

SV Ballet presents the ‘Nutcracker’
Morgan Hill – The Morgan Hill Dance Center (South Valley Ballet) will be performing the first full-length ballet of the Nutcracker, this side of San Jose. There will be guest appearances from professional dancers from Ballet San Jose.
Performance dates are: 7pm Friday, Dec. 15, and two shows Saturday, Dec. 16; 1:30 and 7pm. All shows play at the Ann Sobrato High School Theatre, 401 Burnett Ave. Morgan Hill. Tickets are $20 per seat.
