Men’s CC
Gilroy – Jus 2 Party earned the Men’s CC League title by completing a 2-0 sweep of Feather Haven Mill Monday at Christmas Hill Park, a 16-8 decision.
Jus 2 Party expanded a 7-6 lead with an eight-run rally in the bottom of the fifth inning. Alex Salgado and Bobby Granados each singled twice in the outburst on the way to 4-for-4 efforts. Chris Thomas drove in three Party runs with two doubles, a single and sacrifice fly.
Mike Leslie went 4-for-4 and Kris Ferguson went 3-for-4 and scored three runs for Feather Haven Mill.
Men’s C
The Las Animas Sweepers evened the Men’s C League’s Championship Series at 1-1 Monday at Las Animas Park by rallying past California Silk Screening 14-12.
The final game of the best 2-of-3 series will be played tonight at Las Animas at 7:40pm.
Jim Sands hit two home runs as the Screeners built an 11-4 lead midway through the fifth inning. Kevin Orosco lined a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth as the Sweepers struck for six runs. Consecutive one-out singles from Gabe Duenas, Orosco, Mitch Ponce and Donny Gooding led to a four-run outburst in the Sweeper sixth frame.
Cameron Bautista went 3-for-3 and scored four Sweeper runs. Ray Garcia went 3-for-4 and scored three Screener runs.
Co-Rec C
Eddie Gamboa’s home run in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Dee’z Nutz & Cherriez past Cary O’Neil Roofing 9-8 to leave the teams tied at 1-1 in the Co-Rec C League post-season.
Dee’z and O’Neil play at 8:30 p.m. tonight at Las Animas to determine the season title.
Maya Valdez went 4-for-4 to pace Dee’z to the victory. Gamboa provided two doubles. Ray Garcia hit two home runs, Sands and Mark Terrill one each for Cary O’Neil Roofing.
Men’s EE
Shawn Chiznoskos cracked a home run, two doubles and a single as St. Mary Men’s Club topped SVCC Thumpers #1 26-9 to complete a 2-0 sweep of the Men’s EE series at Las Animas.
Terry Smith and Andrew Lanier lined four hits apiece to ignite the St. Mary Men’s Club offense. Bob Filice added three singles and scored four St. Mary runs. John Holder and Adolfo Tellez stroked home runs for the Thumpers. Holder went 4-for-4 and Mario Flores scored three Thumper runs.
Co-Rec B
Pacific Coast Bail Bonds poured across three runs in the top of the seventh inning to slip past Dequin’s Auto Body-Stubby’s Sports Bar & Grill 12-11 and earn a 2-0 verdict in the Co-Rec B League finale Monday at Christmas Hill.
Marshall Silva lashed a one-out RBI single in the Bonds seventh to make it 10-10. Rich Rodriquez posted a two-out, two-run double to give the visitors the championship.
Art Esquire hit a double, triple and home run, scoring three runs for the winners. Maureen Hughes provided three singles and scored three Pacific Coast runs.
Chip Beardsley went 3-for-3 and Neal Andrade scored three runs for Dequin’s-Stubby’s.
Men’s E
Campbell’s Towing completed a 2-0 sweep over the Titans in the Men’s E League series with an 18-12 triumph Monday at Christmas Hill.
Trailing 11-9 in the sixth, Campbell’s exploded for seven runs in the top of the sixth inning. Art Wozniak lined a lead-off triple and a two-run single in the Towing sixth stanza. Jesse Rawlins went 4-for-5 and Brandon Straw and Brian Sleeper added home runs to the winning effort. Jim Riemer went 3-for-4 and Johnny Ramirez powered a two-run home run for the Titans.
