Where can you see custom cars and unique handmade quilts, eat local food, rock out to live entertainment and take your kids to a special “Kids Zone”? At the 17th annual Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce Taste of Morgan Hill, taking place from 10am-6pm Sept. 23 and 24 in downtown Morgan Hill.

The festival covers more than six blocks on Monterey Road from Main Street to Dunne Avenue. New this year is a U.S. Army interactive trailer, where visitors can simulate parachute jumps, driving tanks and other military tasks in a 75-foot climate-controlled trailer, said Michelle Naylor, director of special events at the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce.

The Kids Zone – featuring kiddie rides, hands-on arts and crafts, and hands-on demonstrations – will be on Second Street this year and has been expanded into the parking behind the Granada Theatre. Additionally, there will be two stages for entertainment and three food areas.

A custom and classic car show will feature more than 150 vehicles, and a quilt show, presented by the South Valley Quilt Association, will showcase handmade quilts that are “truly works of art,” Naylor said.

The Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help with the Taste of Morgan Hill. Call the chamber office at (408) 779-9444.
