Willian E. “Bill” Alexander passed away Saturday, December 20, 2003 after a lengthy illness.
Bill was the loving husband of Jean Alexander of Newman; loving father of Walter Alexander and Claudia Alexander both of Gilroy and Mindy Alexander-Heredia of Santa Nella, stepfather of Michael Adams of Missouri, Lonnie Adams of Gardnerville, NV, Joanna Hernandez of Newman and Melissa Aguilar of Hollister, brother of Jack Alexander of Richmond, IN and Shirley Dunehew of Taft, CA. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Lowell and Bea Alexander. He was a grandfather of 11, a native of Richmond, Indiana and died at age 63.
Mr. Alexander moved to California when he was 4 years old. He moved to Gilroy 37 years ago from Corcoran and worked as a fire captain for Gilroy Fire Department for 25 years, retiring in 1988. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge, Gilroy and San Jose chapters, an avid golfer and bowler and a member of the California Firefighters Association and the International Firefighters Association.
Funeral Services will be Friday, Dec. 26 begining at 10 a.m. at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy under direction of Habing Family Funeral Home. The family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
