Matilda “Tillie” Agler, 85, died peacefully in her sleep at home after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Agler was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.

She was the loving wife of Bill Agler, of San Martin; loving mother of Jo Ann Agler Ayres, of Concord, and Bill Agler of Boise, Idaho; dear grandmother of Ellen Agler, David Agler and Matthew Ayres; daughter of the late Gustav and Lillian Brodersen; sister of Iver Brodersen, of Fullerton, and the late Marvin Brodersen.

Then she moved to South County at the age of 2 and had been a resident of South County ever since. She graduated from Gilroy High School. She married her husband June 7, 1941. She worked as the Community Services Director at Gavilan Community College in the 1960s and 1970s.

She was a past member of the Wheeler Auxiliary and the Sewing group of both Wheeler Hospital and South Valley Hospital, a charter member of the Others Club of South County, past member of Women in Touch and member of the San Martin Presbyterian Church.

Private family services will be held under direction of Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
