GILROY – Room is still available for children to participate in STAR 2003. “Groovy” is an amazing musical comedy tribute to the ’60s, which will be directed by Pepe Espinosa.
This fun-filled summer program is presented by the Gavilan College Theatre Arts program for young people ages 8 to 15. Come and participate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Partial scholarships are still available for Session 2. Session 2 is scheduled for July 22 to Aug. 9 and costs $435. To register, call Gavilan Community Education at 847-2514.
Summer reading is a family affair at the library
GILROY – Adults, teens and children are welcome to sign-up for a summer reading program at the Gilroy Public Library. This is the second year that adults have been included in the program.
Kindergartners through eighth-graders can sign up at the children’s reference desk. Teens, ages 13 through 19 and adults 20 years and older should sign up at the adult reference desk.
The children’s program features Thursday afternoon activities. The teen and adult programs include weekly prize drawings. All readers to complete their program will receive a prize and completion certificate.
The library is located at 7387 Rosanna St. and is open Monday and Tuesday from 1 to 9 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Details: 842-8208.
Preschool open house
GILROY – Terri’s Learning Tree will be holding an open house on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 24, 25 and 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. at 890 Dearborn Place.
Children are welcome to participate in a fun preschool activity. Enrollment for summer program (ages 3 and 4 years) and fall preschool will be accepted at that time.
