lengthy illness.
Richard P. Leone died at home Friday, June 13, 2003, after a lengthy illness. He was 73 years old.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty J. Leone of Gilroy and his children, Linda Hart and her husband AJ of San Jose and Richard P. Leone Jr. and his wife Kathy of Sandpoint, Idaho. He was the brother of Margaret DeVincentis of Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He was the grandfather of Alex Hart IV of San Jose, Aaron Hart and his wife Yolande of San Jose, Elizabeth de Sousa and her husband Emilio of San Jose, Jennifer Castillo and her husband Jason of San Jose, Matthew Leone of San Jose, Nicholas Kane and his wife Chrissy of San Jose and Abby Leone of Sandpoint. He was the great grandfather of Jacob and Alicia de Sousa of San Jose and Isabella Hart of San Jose.

He was a native of Lawrence, Mass. He moved to San Jose in 1950. He was owner of P.S. Painting Co. in San Jose for 35 years before retiring in 1992. He moved to Gilroy in 1976. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict and an avid gardener. He will be truly missed by his family.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
