Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.
Frederick Cermeno, 83, died Tuesday at Gilroy Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.
He was a native of Calexico, Mexico.
Mr. Cermeno lived in Morgan Hill and also Gilroy for the past 40 years. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and fought in Africa and Europe with General Patton.
Mr. Cermeno was a sweet and loving husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching the Raiders, Oakland A’s and boxing.
He was the husband of Frances T. Cermeno of Morgan Hill. Mr. Cermeno is also survived by his sons: Richard F. Cermeno and his wife Sylvia, of San Martin, and James A. Cermeno, of Gilroy, Ronald A. Cermeno and his wife Julie, of Hollister; his grandchildren: Desiree, Selena, Sally Ann, James Jr., Joseph, Jasmine, Justin, Ronald Jr., Mercedes, Theresa and Wendy; and also nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Marie Burnett, his brother and three sisters.
Services have been held under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
