GILROY – VFW Bingo upset the Boss Hawgs 6-5 Tuesday to remain in the Men’s Winter E League playoff picture at Christmas Hill Park.

The win pushed VFW Bingo to 3-4 with a game against winless Blackout Window Tinting Tuesday. A VFW victory would earn the team either third or fourth place and a berth in the post-season playoffs.

Gabe Perez singled and scored in the top of the seventh inning for VFW Bingo to snap a 5-5 tie. Gabe Sandoval slapped a triple and double, Dan Fortino a double and single for the winners. Danny Hinojos went 3-for-3, Porf Rodriquez 2-for-3 for the 4-3 Boss Hawgs.

Joe Duran went 3-for-3 and Art Mancera scored two runs as the Slammers defeated Cosa Nostra 7-5. The loss left Cosa Nostra at 6-1, the Slammers next at 5-2.

Mike Sandoval singled and doubled, scoring twice for the league leaders.

Joe Mendoza crushed a home run and two singles to lead Covenant past Blackout Window 22-11. Jose Villarreal, Brian Moreno and John Day each collected three Builder hits. Alex Pena lined a home run, double and single for Blackout.

Talk Alota Ship moved into a tie for first place in the Men’s D League at 5-1 Tuesday by edging the Dirty Dozen 19-17 at Las Animas Park.

The Ship (5-1) struck for five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to erase a 17-14 deficit. Raul Monroy opened the rally with a home run.

Tracy Sustaita went 4-for-4 and Johnny Crocker went 3-for-4 for the winners. Joel Garcia went 4-for-5, while Jeff Elliot, Pete Quintanar and Andy Alarcon mustered three hits apiece for the Dozen.

Countryside Daycare is 5-1 after a 14-12 victory over Aladdin Bail Bonds-Carreiro’s Plastering.

The teams battled to a 10-10 tie through six innings. Kris Ferguson opened a four-run Countryside seventh with a home run. Bob Reggiani took game batting honors with a 4-for-4 effort for Daycare. Steve Sorci contributed three hits. Donny Hufnagel and Scott Rader hit Aladdin-Carreiro’s homers.

Los Chilotes joined Dirty Dozen at 3-3 with a 17-9 nod over Get Low Players. Juan Contreras (3-3), Joel Gaeta and Jorge Landeros hit Los Chilotes home runs. Paolo Borba went 3-for-3 and drove in four Get Low Players runs.
