Caltrain cuts commute time
GILROY – Caltrain is proposing Baby Bullet trains that would begin and end at the San Jose Diridon Caltrain Station. The trains could shave more than an hour a day off of commuters’ rides if they ride all the way to San Francisco. Riders bound for Mountain View, Palo Alto, Hillsdale or Millbrae would also save a considerable amount of time on their commute. Caltrain also proposes a new limited-stop service. All Gilroy trains would operate as locals between Gilroy and Tamien, becoming limited-stop trains at San Jose Diridon.
A public meeting to receive input on the overhaul of the Caltrain weekday timetable and the reinstatement of weekend service between San Francisco and San Jose will be held by Caltrain today at 7:45 p.m. in Council Chambers, 7351 Rosanna St. Details: www.caltrain.com or (800) 660-4287.
