Dear Editor:

I have been following the story in the paper about the family who was charged for 98,000 gallons of water. I think there is definitely something wrong here.

This last August my friend was charged (overcharged) for the exact same amount. This seems like too much of a coincidence. The city told them they used this much because of a new lawn they had installed.

If they had used this much water on that small lawn it would have washed away! I wonder how many other households in Gilroy have been charged for 98,000 gallons of water?
