There are as many cures to a slice as there are people who slice
the ball. Many cures are very abstract and are difficult to feel
for the player. The best tip I ever heard came from Ken
Venturi.

To cure a slice you must first understand a slice. A slice is caused by the clubhead cutting across the ball. This is usually caused by coming “over the top” of your swing and pulling the arms in towards your body. Take a look at your divots. If they are going to the left of your target than this is exactly the case. To get the path of your swing going the other direction you must hold your back to the target longer on the downswing. Holding this position initiates a slide of the left hip towards the target. This slide of the hips rather than a twist keeps the back facing the target longer.

The result is the back does not move abruptly away from the targety on the downswing. This keeps your shoulders aligned to the target longer and a better swing plane.

Remember, when all else fails take a lesson. You’ll be surprised how much we can help.
