Trinidad “Trini” R. Valdez, passed away at his home on April 16, 2003. He was a native of D’Hanis, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Terry Valdez of Gilroy; his daughter and her husband, Socorro and Jose Alfaro of Gilroy; daughter and her husband, Rosie and Ernie Lopez of Salinas; son: Trinidad “Gord” Valdez Jr. of Gilroy; daughter, Ernestine “Tina” Valdez of Gilroy; daughter, Bertha Valdez of Gilroy; daughter and her husband, Mary T. and Rudy Lopez Sr. of Gilroy; son and his wife, Vincent and Rita Valdez of Gilroy; daughter and her husband, Christine and Ray Moss Jr. of Morgan Hill; son and his wife, Andres and Davina Valdez of Gustine; son, Bobby Valdez of Gilroy; daughter and her husband, Elsie and Octavio Hernandez of Glendale, Ariz.; and the late Gabriel Valdez; sister and her husband, Elidora V. “Lola” and George Rios of Gilroy; brother-in-law and his wife, Domingo and Mary Fernandez of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law, Guadalupe “Lupe” Huerta of Sacramento; brother-in-law and his wife, Juan and Yolanda Fernandez of San Antonio; grandchildren, Jose Alfaro, Jr., Theresita V. Alfaro, Ernie T. Lopez, Jr, John Lopez, Rosie Lopez, Evelyn Hudson, Fernando Murillo Jr., Liz Murillo, Rudy Lopez Jr., Sarah Lopez, Katrina and Serena Valdez, Ashley T. Moss, Andy Valdez Jr., Brianna Valdez, Hannah Valdez, Robert Valdez Jr. , Angelo Valdez, Rolando Martinez Jr., and Samantha Martinez; and great grandchildren, Lorenzo J. Lopez, Austin and Noah Hudson, Jonathan Troncoso and Kayla Murillo.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doroteo Valdez; his sisters, Consuelo Baltazar, Lupe Lumbreras and Ramona Nunez.
He worked at Filice and Perrelli which later became California Canners and Growers for over 30 years. He enjoyed Mariachi music and loved to sing. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends.
Visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday at noon at South Valley Community Church, 8095 Kelton Drive, Gilroy. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
