CASTROVILLE -– Michael Jenkins notched a fourth-quarter touchdown and sophomore safety Aaron Palacios sealed the deal with his second and third interceptions of the game in the final minute of play Saturday as the North Monterey County High football team remained undefeated with a 20-14 win over North Salinas.

The victory improves the Condors’ record to 3-0 while North High falls to 1-2.

North County’s Armando Rodriguez was the day’s big ground-gainer, piling up 95 yards on 14 carries. He scored touchdowns of 10 and 5 yards in the first half as the Condors rushed out to a 14-0 lead.

Seaside 43, Live Oak 12

LOS ALTOS HILLS – The Salinas High football team would not be denied, even on fourth down.

A 15-play touchdown drive, including three fourth-down conversions, put Salinas up for good as the Cowboys defeated Archbishop Mitty 21-14 Friday at Foothill College. It was the Cowboys’ first win of the year.

SOLEDAD – Alisal High School has had its football moments, but perhaps none quite as spectacular as its 48-0 victory over Soledad on Friday night on the Aztecs’ home turf.

Alisal’s 48-point outburst marked only the fifth time since 1982 that the Trojans have passed the 40-point barrier. The last time Alisal scored that many was in 1997 when it level Carmel 47-13. That same year, Alisal and Mission San Jose of Fremont melted the scoreboard in a 43-43 tie.
