A native of San Jose, she moved to Gilroy when she married her husband. They farmed prunes, walnuts and grapes on both Swanston Lane and Murray Avenue in Gilroy, and apricots on Roop Road. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church.

She is the wife of the late Sam Mangano (1993); the daughter of the late Salvador and Pauline Chairmonte; the mother of Angelo Mangano and his wife, Tina of Hollister, and Mary Barnes and her husband Alan of Gilroy; the grandmother of Michael Mangano and his wife, Laney of Gustine, and Raymond Mangano and his wife Allyson of Ceres; the sister of Salvador Chairmonte of Arkansas, Tony Chairmonte of San Jose, Vince Chairmonte of Madera, Josephine Martino of Los Gatos and the late Louie, Joe, Philip and Mike Chairmonte, Frances, Noto, Grace Martin and Virginia Elerdo.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilroy.
