SAN MATEO – The fifth annual Bay Area PaddleFest, located at Coyote Point County Park beach, is California’s largest canoe and kayak festival and demo day and a major rendezvous for paddlers in the West.
This two-day event running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in San Mateo is for outdoor and paddling enthusiast of all abilities and showcases more than 300 canoes, sea and river kayaks, inflatable kayaks and more than 100 exhibitors, and nearly 100 seminars led by notable experts and personalities of the paddling world, including England’s Derek Hutchinson, considered the father of modern day sea kayaking.
Paddle Fest is a chance to test-paddle the latest boats from a selection of hundreds, check out the hottest new gear, get expert canoe and kayaking instruction, meet manufacturers and local retailers and socialize with Bay Area paddlers. No experience is necessary, and everyone is welcome at PaddleFest.
The Bay Area PaddleFest, produced by the Northern California Paddlesports Council, is a perfect opportunity to have fun exploring the world of canoeing and kayaking in a safe, educational and festive environment.
The cost to visit the festival is $20 per person per day for unlimited boat demonstrations and exhibits, $40 per day for for unlimited demonstrations, classes and exhibits, and $10 per day for children ages 13 and younger. Parking is $5 and lunch and snack will be for sale on-site.
