Composed of players from Gilroy, Morgan Hill and Castroville, the AAU Jammers eighth-grade squad finished second at the Jam On It Tournament over Memorial Day weekend.
The tournament hosted more than 500 boys and girls teams.
The Jammers compiled a 3-1 record in the Eighth Grade Gold Division to claim the second spot. The y lost a tough championship game by 20 points, but head coach Scott Aldridge said his players showed a high energy level during the tournament.
“(I’m) very excited and proud to see such good basketball,” he said.
Trevor Beardon averaged 13 points per game in the four outings followed closely by Trevor Hadnot, who poured in nine an effort.
Zachary Fishler, Trenton Ciswski and Kelon Jacobs each averaged four rebounds per game.
