All Gilroyans will have a chance to enjoy Gilroy Gardens for free from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 27, as part of the park’s 10th anniversary celebration.

The park recently sent out “Golden Ticket invitations” along with City of Gilroy water bills, according to a park statement. The ticket includes admission for four, parking, and access to all rides and attractions. Residents without a Golden Ticket can get access to the park using a photo identification with proof of residency.

The park will also offer $10 chicken and pasta lunches for the first 2,000 guests, according to a park statement. Proceeds from these sales go toward the Gilroy Gardens Education Program, which serves children and schools in the South Bay. The program helps operate a Living Laboratory, which is used for local educational trips.

In addition, the park will also have live music, balloons, Gil the Garlic Guy, and opportunities to meet the Board of Directors, City Council members and members of the Gilroy Visitor’s Bureau.

“The Board of Directors is so pleased to be celebrating 10 years of operation that they wanted to invite the whole City,” park General Manager Barb Granter said in a prepared statement. “It will be a truly Gilroyan day of appreciation.”
