Should parents monitor their teenager’s postings on social media
Web sites?
THIS WEEK’S WEB POLL:

Should parents monitor their teenager’s postings on social media Web sites?

Yes: 12 No: 0

â–  Yes. I say that although I never did it!

â–  YES! Parents need to take more interest in what their children are doing/saying/texting/tweeting etc. Morality seems to be slipping on the part of too many young people and this includes parents. If we had a young person in our household, their available computer would be in the family area of the house!

â–  They should be aware of what’s being posted, but to me more importantly they should monitor the TIME spent on these sites. Way too much time is devoted to social networking resulting in very little socializing!

â–  Yes. Only if they sit with their child and have them log into their site and show them what is posted. Up front, parents should decide what is acceptable to them about these sites and then talk to their child about what they will allow.
