About 3:03 p.m. Friday, police received a report that two men had beaten a transient on the 7800 block of Monterey Street, police said. The men had used a stick to beat the transient and strangled him at the same time, police said.Â
The transient, the name and age of which police did not release, sustained major injuries and was taken to an unspecified Santa Clara County hospital for treatment. Police did not release his condition.Â
Police collected unspecified evidence at the scene but did not suggest a motive.Â
One of the alleged assailants was described as a Hispanic adult male, about 5 feet, 3 inches, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known simply as Israel and is also homeless, police said.Â
The other alleged assailant was described as a Hispanic male adult, about 5-feet tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known simply as David, police said.
