Community Pulse: Legalize it?

How would you vote on a statewide ballot initiative to legalize
the recreational and medicinal use of marijuana?
THIS WEEK’S WEB POLL:

How would you vote on a statewide ballot initiative to legalize the recreational and medicinal use of marijuana?

Yes: 8 No: 3

â–  NO … you just can’t convince me that it does not have long-term psychological effects that are not good.

â–  If the recreational use is regulated and taxed similarly to alcohol, then I would vote for it.

â–  Yes and tax the heck out of it!

â–  Yes. California needs the tax revenue. Alcohol is legal so why not marijuana? I’ve never used alcohol, drugs, tobacco nor coffee, but I support receiving tax funds from those who do use them.

â–  Yes. But I wouldn’t stop there. Perhaps this would open the door (and minds of our ignorant political leaders) to other commercial and industrial uses for cannabis based products that are currently illegal!

■ Take it out of the neighborhoods and schools – get it regulated and taxed. Alcohol is much worse and kills more people.

â–  Yes! As long as there is a provision for regulation for growing/possession amount and taxation on sales (including medicinal).
