Christopher Altieri, 10, caught this large mouth bass that weighed about three pounds during his first fishing trip recently at Coyote Lake with his step dad, Jim, and brother, Evan. After Evan caught a fish first, Christopher got a little disappointed he hadn’t caught a fish yet. But his persistence paid off and he was eventually able to reel in the fish with a little help from his stepfather and gain the bragging rights over his older brother. “We all were so surprised what he pulled in from the lake, especially when the guy at Coyote Bait and Tackle had told us that the bass were not biting much,” said Christine Altieri, Evan’s mom. Christopher released the fish, which he named “Bassy,” back into the lake for someone else to catch. He went back the next day hoping to meet up with Bassy again, but didn’t have any luck.
