Firefighters responded to a grass fire on U.S. 101 near San Martin Tuesday morning.

The fire of unknown origin was reported about 8:44 a.m. on the east side of the freeway, according to Calfire Capt. Brian Declar. The fire burned about a 30-by-30-foot grassy area near the California Highway Patrol truck scales.

No injuries and no property damage were reported.
