action, edging Dee’z Nutz 9-8 at Christmas Hill Park Tuesday.
Gilroy – The Good Fellas needed a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning to remain unbeaten in Men’s BB League softball action, edging Dee’z Nutz 9-8 at Christmas Hill Park Tuesday.

The victory set up a showdown between two 5-0 teams, Good Fellas and D. A. Wolfe Construction, Friday at 7:40 p.m. at Christmas Hill.

Guillermo Gamboa and Sean Subia each contributed a two-run single as Dee’z Nutz built an 8-3 lead by the fourth inning. The Fellas trailed 8-5 after six, then turned five singles and one Dee’z outfield error into four runs in the seventh stanza.

Charlie Muro, Cameron Bautista, Gabe Duenas and Alex Flores hit consecutive singles to ignite the Fellas’ rally.

D. A. Wolfe Construction responded with a 17-8 win over Ascent Electrical. Benji Dequin crushed two home runs and Joel Vaca laced a solo shot for the Builders. Benny Sanchez and Junior Gutierrez each went 4-for-5 for the winners, while Mike Ahmed, Al Rivera, Shawn Lopez and Steven Huerta each came up with three hits for Ascent.

Armando DeLaTorre tagged a two-run home run and Geno Martinez went 4-for-5 as Maui Tacos Dynamite powered past State Farm Insurance 18-7. Josh Torres homered and Gil Barry went 3-for-4 for State Farm Insurance.

ACP shocked Gamers In Control 13-8 Tuesday at Las Animas Park to create a three-team logjam for first place in the seven-team Men’s EE League.

Ernie Kalberg and Rick Duyao hit consecutive home runs in a five-run third inning as the Gamers joined Help U Sell Real Estate and New Hope Community Church at 4-1 atop the standings. New Hope and the Gamers square off at 7pm tonight at Gavilan for a share of the first-half title.

Ray Cardoza went 3-for-3 for the 3-2 ACP squad. Fred Tovar fashioned three hits for Gamers In Control.

Bill Hawkins went 4-for-4 and Chris Soto went 3-for-3 to pace New Hope past the Good Ole Boys 21-4. Bob Schoeneman went 2-for-2 for the Good Ole Boys.

Heinzen Manufacturing moved to 5-0 in Men’s E action with a 21-10 win over Team EvMar Tuesday at Gavilan Sports Park. Manny Freitas hit two home runs and two singles for the winners, John Jimenez a 4-for-4 effort. John Serrine collected three hits for Team EvMar.

Heinzen Manufacturing faces 4-1 Titans at 8:40 p.m. tonight at Christmas Hill.

Todd Mazza went 5-for-5 and Parker Hathaway homered in a four-hit showing as Claddagh Brew Crew defeated St. Mary Men’s Club 20-8. Andrew Lanier went 4-for-4 for St. Mary.
