Dear Editor,
The Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Dispatch and to the people of our community for their continued and valuable support of WERC through donations and attendance at fundraising events.
WERC’s rehabilitation program is funded 100 percent through donations and does not receive operating money from any government agency.
Among the animals currently under our care are “high-maintenance” babies, including 15 barn owls, three Great Horned owls, a variety of songbirds and opossums.
Here’s a fun and easy way for you to help: You are invited to WERC’s annual BBQ and Auction fundraiser being held Saturday, June 18 at San Martin Country Park.
There will be superb barbecued food with all the trimmings, silent and live auctions of a fantastic variety of items, bidding on attendance at future bobcat, hawk and owl releases, fun games and activities for the children. Visit www.werc-ca.org or call 779-WERC (9372) for more details.
