Sunny skies ahead

Thursday’s warm temperatures fell one degree shy of a new Feb. 12 record as South County residents turned in their umbrellas and rain gear for shorts and tank tops.
A high of 77 degrees in Morgan Hill and Gilroy today did not quite eclipse the record high of 78 degrees in 2006.
“If you like today, you’re going to enjoy the next week,” said National Weather Service Forecaster Diane Henderson, who expects similar temperatures in the upper 70s throughout the weekend and into next week.
The sun will be waiting for Morgan Hill Unified and Gilroy Unified school district students for the Presidents Week break.
